Racing against the clock

I'm so behind on posting! We're leaving for Utah soon. It feels like day after day I'm racing against the clock, trying to get everything done. I'll catch up the blog after the holidays.

Zachary woke up with a 101 degree fever last night. He's hardly slept and has been super sad and cuddly. (Which I don't usually mind, except for the fact that this is happening right before our trip!) Going to the doctor tomorrow. Also, I lost my wedding ring over a week ago...I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in the house. I seem to be losing my mind (and everything else) these days.

On a good note: I won the Scribble it giveaway! I'm thinking about these birds for the kids room, in green or maybe black. Their stuff is adorable--check it out.


I've been making homemade Christmas gifts this year. I'll post pictures of the things after Christmas...can't spoil the surprises, ya know. Until next time!

Spare time

It's been busy around here. Some things we've been enjoying in the bits of spare time:

Reading books! This kid LOVES books!

Granddad's coming tonight, and then again next week with grandma. Doug's master's recital is next weekend. We're excited to go. Can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving!

Home for Christmas!!

Wow...I think blogs are meant to be journals AND to help each other out! Your comments really boosted my spirits--thank you! And, thanks to a good friend, I got the incredible idea of checking out flights to Utah. With gas prices going down, flights were almost half price off from last week. So...instead of using our Christmas money on gifts...we're flying home! Doug's parents live 30 minutes from my parents, so we'll be able to see both.

This is further proof to me that nothing matters more in the world than each other. True happiness doesn't come from ANYTHING material. I'm giddy just thinking about Christmas! Although I'm glad we won't be there for a month this time... {hey, living with family for too LONG isn't good either}

Fun times

We went to Kinman Farms on Monday. Went on a hayride, pet animals, picked pumpkins, and jumped on haystacks. It was a blast. No pictures though, because my camera ran out of batteries!! :(

I found Zach talking on the phone the other day.

He picks up things so fast. He's learned how to say "no" already (thanks to his sister), book, oops, mama, dada, lots of animal noises, this, and wow. He LOVES books and says "Booookkkk" with a very pronounced k. These moments make me smile!

The spider knows it's Halloween

I think the spider had babies. The web is back, not as big as before, but on our OTHER car. It's definitely spooked me out.

I admit, this was my second try. The first time I wasn't sure what I was doing and got 61. Try it, it's fun!

This makes me feel better

I started a job today. I'm a substitute for the playland at our gym. I took my kids and played with other kids for four hours, and got paid to have fun. The only thing was that my kids missed their naps, but since lately I don't know the meaning of a schedule, it was no big deal. They're just sleeping now during dinner instead. If only I'd get a free membership because of working there. (I would've if I hadn't signed a contract. When the contract's up I'd get it free, but we'll be out of here by then.) Still, after feeling down and letting the house come to shambles (is that a word?), it was nice to have a reason to get out and go somewhere, and to see Aubrey and Zach enjoying it as well.

Anyway, I just read this and it made me feel much more positive. I love her blog.

I'm nearing my 100th post, so look out because I've got a fun one in store!

A blessing or a curse?

A while back I read a post from Cortney--and I just have to quote a part of it:

"Is blogging a blessing or a curse? I love it and I hate it all at the same time. I’m sure many of you have experienced this confusion of feelings...I love seeing everyone’s blogs, reading them, and keeping my own. However, it could CONSUME my life if I let it. It seems that my blogging habits, similar to just about every other aspect of my life (including doing dishes and laundry) is pretty much as inconsistent as possible. Sometimes I’m a regular, other times it may seem as if I’ve dropped out of the blogging world. Then I realize I’ve lost touch with pretty much everyone who doesn’t live within a ten mile radius of my home, and start to feel a little bit forgotten myself. So then...I’m back!"

I guess that's one reason there are blogs nowadays. But then, there are times when I wish I could see you friends in person, or hear your voices on the phone. So perhaps I should stop blogging and CALL you all instead! Or you can call me. Then we'll remember that we're real people. Can you see my love/hate relationship with blogs?

Chores

The two chores I despise:

1. Cleaning the bathroom
2. Washing things that cannot be soaked in water, such as waffle irons, griddles, George foremans, etc.
