Hi all! We are HERE! We finally got our internet set up. The trip was long and I'm SOOO glad it's over. We finished packing Friday August 31 and drove to Utah that weekend. Zachary's blessing was wonderful. We saw lots of family and friends.
We began the official trip to Kentucky on Labor Day. Doug and his dad drove the moving truck in 2 days, but his mom, myself, and the kids took 3 days to drive in our Nissan.
What a day full of labor it was... actually, more like weeks. We drove every day at least 10 hours, stopping a lot to feed baby Zach and run around with Aubrey. I thought Aubrey would be the challenge, but she was content watching DVD's and reading books the entire time! It was Zach that was hard. He'd fuss a lot and wanted to be held, and that's just not possible in a car seat.
I didn't take any pictures of the road trip. I don't really want to remember it. But much thanks to Renee for driving along with 2 kids under age 2!
We arrived on Wed. the 5th and were completely unpacked by that Sunday! We had lots of help and de-cluttered the place. The weather is beautiful. It isn't too humid and cooler nights lately. The trees are starting to turn colors, and there are lots of hills and green trees. And our condo is wonderful! We got all new appliances, our new couch and table, new carpet and paint, A/C, a patio...the list goes on and on. Now the family's trying to adjust to life. It feels like I'm in a dream or a vacation, and that sometime soon I'll be back in Idaho. The stores are huge. I get lost in Super Wal-Mart. The people are friendly, but sometimes a bit too much. They say "Hi Sweetie/Honey" everywhere you go. And we're starting over, a new life you could say, with our 5 week old. Lots of things to adjust to. We have met some great friends in the ward and got together today with the Wallings, our friends from Rexburg days. That was fun. We went to Chuck E Cheese with them to celebrate Aubrey's birthday (this Monday). It felt wonderful to have friends that go way back with us. I'm so glad they live close by.
We are so blessed. Everything went smoothly, and we're grateful for all the support and help we've had to get here.
